Questions people ask before signing up

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Create an organisation, verify your email, connect a number and use the product for 7 days. We ask for payment details when you choose to subscribe, and not before.

How many people can use it?

On Growth, Pro and Enterprise, as many as you like — seats are unlimited and we do not price the size of your team. Starter includes three. Most platforms in this category cap you at three users at a similar price, which is how a support team ends up sharing one login.

Is this the official WhatsApp API?

Yes. IconEngage runs on Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API and connects your number through Meta’s own embedded signup. The WhatsApp Business Account stays yours, and so does the number.

What does WhatsApp itself cost?

Meta charges separately for template messages — marketing, utility and authentication — at a per-message rate that depends on the category and the country, and bills the WhatsApp Business Account you connect directly. We do not resell Meta’s messaging. IconEngage adds a service fee of 10% of Meta’s charge (by default) on each paid message, paid from your prepaid WhatsApp credits. Your plan price is for the platform.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, at any time and without asking us. Contacts, conversations, messages and campaign results are available over the public REST API and as exports, on every plan. Export controls on the Enterprise tier restrict who may do it, not whether it is possible.
